On this episode of the podcast we discuss Spurgeon's views on ministering to your kids
CH Spurgeon warned parents about two errors they can make when raising their children: neglecting their souls or assuming that they will automatically be saved because of the faith of their parents.
On this episode we will discuss how to avoid both of these errors. We’re talking with Pastor Brandon Rhea, who has written the forward for a new edition from Particular Baptist Heritage Books of Spurgeon’s classic, Come Ye Children.
Come Ye Children exhorts parents and pastors alike to take seriously their role in drawing the hearts and minds of children to Jesus Christ, explaining their need for a Savior, urging them on in their sanctification, and teaching them sound doctrine from an early age.
In this conversation will talk about how Spurgeon’s views challenge modern ideas of children’s ministry, practical steps you can take in your own home to teach your kids spiritual truths, and what we can learn from Spurgeon’s example as a pastor and as a father.
